SENSI design studio + is a Calgary-based firm founded by Marta Sensidoni, who brings 25 years of multidisciplinary local and global design experience. Her work has been integral to many award-winning and internationally recognized architecture and interior projects in Latin America, Europe, Asia, the US and Canada, ranging from large-scale civic and arts and culture projects to residential and industrial design.
From the Latin SENSUS, "faculty of thought, feeling and meaning," SENSI is the Italian word for SENSES. It embodies architecture’s function as a medium for our senses when it connects bodies, minds and emotions to the land and surroundings.
Relentless in our pursuit of beauty, we push the boundaries of form and space by addressing how architecture is used and feels. We design living experiences.
At SENSI design studio +, we raise a project’s economic and experiential value by carefully managing our client’s resources, goals, and challenges. We work with an integrated, multidisciplinary design approach to achieve more with less.
Our practice balances elements of art, architecture, and our reverence for nature. We acknowledge that we are stewards of the land, and our design pays respect to the site and its inhabitants. We embrace history and tradition and believe each project should reflect the identity of the place.
